Barcrest Games
- Some of the most popular games that Barcrest has put out were the name Rainbow Riches. There are many games that wear this name. All of them have their unique quirks and styles. But the base is pretty much always the same.
- The little Barcrest logo adorned the fruit machines we played and was always instantly recognisable. Bet Victor, one of the casinos we recommend to players, offers a number of Barcrest online slots and it has a reputation for producing games of the highest quality.
Barcrest gaming software is one of the best in the business. This company is committed to offering top-end and out of the world games and gives due importance to quality over quantity. It is one of the largest and leading land-based casino operators that started its journey in this industry in 1968.
For those of us who spent our misguided youths in amusement arcades, chip shops and cafes and our misguided later years in pubs and clubs, Barcrest is name which probably needs very little introduction. The little Barcrest logo adorned the fruit machines we played and was always instantly recognisable.
Bet Victor, one of the casinos we recommend to players, offers a number of Barcrest online slots and it has a reputation for producing games of the highest quality. A brief history of Barcrest is probably in order here though and this company was formed as long ago as 1968 with a remit to provide technology to bingo halls and the like but it was also well prepared to adapt to the UK regulation that demanded slots contain an element of skill (you can read more about the history of the fruit machines here).
Throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s Barcrest continued to develop and innovate to become one of the UK’s biggest and most recognised suppliers of fruit machines. It also expanded into Europe to take advantage of deregulating markets there.
In 1998 Barcrest was acquired by the American gaming giant IGT who were looking to expand their operations into Europe and not long afterwards the company began to get involved in the design and development of online slots and other online casino games. Over the subsequent years it developed a number of well-received slots and this development process culminated in 2006 with the release of the still-popular Rainbow Riches, a title which has spawned a number of sequels and offshoots.
In 2011 Barcrest was acquired from IGT by another US company called Scientific Games who merged it with another organisation called The Global Draw. Both now operate under the SG Gaming brand but the Barcrest name lives on in it’s online slots.
SG Gaming has its headquarters in Manchester but employs more than 600 people nationwide.
